When rethreading I pulled out the bobbin case to make sure it was seated correctly and found a kind of 'v' shaped piece of wire (about the width of a paper clip I guess) sitting loose under the bobbin case. This, of course, lead to the thread jamming so I had to clear that. So, I was sewing along and heard a thump.kind of sounded like a louder version of what you hear when the needle hits a pin.but I wasn't using pins.
